During our 2019 summer program, the Moseley Center will be offering unpaid internships for high school students ages 16 and older. The official name of these student interns are Peer Activity Leaders or PALs.
Throughout this internship, students will have the opportunity to participate in career development activities, discover the importance of community service, build customer service skills, and find out what it takes to be a leader in their community.
Attached is a flyer for students with information about the internship.
Looking forward to a great summer!

The Idaho Youth Ranch has a few upcoming projects where we need small to medium sized groups to help us!
Now – Mid April (Middleton): Our new arena is almost finished! We need 5-10 volunteers to help us in the next couple of weeks to put down mats in the barn, put up stall dividers, and other projects. We can work with you Monday - Saturday, between 8am and 6pm. We need a group that’s ready to get their hands a bit dirty!
End of April (Boise): Our new backpack initiative is getting started! We need 1-2 groups of volunteers (10 – 20 people) to help us stuff our outreach and welcome backpacks for the youth that we serve through our residential and outreach programs. Come join the fun, and help us provide needed items to homeless and runaway youth in our community! We can work with you Monday – Saturday between 8am and 6pm.
Ongoing (Boise): We need small to medium sized groups that want to help us process jewelry! Our volunteers will sort through all the fancy items, pair earrings, and get it on the cards to send to the store for sale. Fun activity for a team to visit and help a good cause! We can work with you Monday – Saturday between 8am and 6pm.
Ongoing (Treasure Valley Stores): Our thrift stores and warehouse can always use your help! Small to medium sized groups are great! (up to 20 in the warehouse, 15 in the stores). We need your help to sort, categorize, colorize and straighten our merchandise on our sales floor! We can accommodate you Monday – Sunday (depending on store hours!).
If any of these projects pique your interest, please reach out to Leslie Morthland, Volunteer Services Manager or Mr. Watson.

Mathnasium teams with the community to put on free STEM/STEAM Nights at local elementary schools. This is originally the idea of National PTA and they recruited Mathnasium to help with math aspects of STEM. At these events, we bring in fun math games and lots of prizes! It's Mathnasium's way of giving back and joining in with the community to promote STEM/STEAM for our youth. All of this is made possible by the participation of local role model high school students who run the games. The games are easy and we provide training for all volunteers on the day of the event.
Here is a web link for any interested high school students to volunteer: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/70a084fa5a829abf58-mathnasium
- We feed volunteers pizza during their volunteer time!
- We give volunteers a thank you letter with their volunteer hours on it, so they can show it to their advisers
HUGE THANKS to students who have enabled smash hit events at 8 elementary schools so far this year already!! Last night Mountain View and Meridian Tech Charter high schools made Siena Elementary School's STEAM event amazing!!! The list is too long of all the high schools that have helped... but THANKS SO MUCH!
Students who cannot help on nights currently listed in the sign up genius will have other opportunities on this same sign up link, as elementary schools are constantly asking us to come do an event! We have several more in the planning stages :) So check back in with the above signupgenius weblink each month as we add new events!
I've attached a flyer that explains Mathnasium Math Nights. Our Math Nights can either be Mathnasium running an entire turn key event for a school... or as just part of their overall STEM/STEAM event.
Also, please pass the word that Mathnasium is always taking applications from role model students to work at our math learning centers in Boise & Meridian. I have attached a flyer about the benefits for high school students of working at Mathnasium. It's a great way to make some money while helping local students improve math skill and confidence!
We are GREATLY IN NEED OF MATHNASIUM INSTRUCTORS ON TUESDAYS AND THURSDAYS AT MERIDIAN AND BOISE CENTERS :)
Thank you so much!

Many don't quite understand how to use some of the newer technology. This may be a fun thing for you to embark upon and get some service hours while you're at it!

High School Students, here is an opportunity to get some volunteer hours taken care of as a requirement or to simply help enhance your college application or work towards a college scholarship. Volunteer efforts also look good on job applications down the road. Or simply become a committee member to help enhance Idaho’s outdoors and our outdoor heritage.
Volunteering to be a Gem State NWTF (National Wild Turkey Federation) Committee member would get you very easily in the 30 hour range, with the option for more.
Weekly meetings: (12-16+ hours)
Day of banquet: (10-14 hours) March 23rd
Any extra time/effort put in: (… hours)
What is required
Try and attend most of the weekly meetings
(Barrel House 5181 N Glenwood St, Garden City, ID 83714)
Bring new/fresh ideas to the table
Attend the banquet March 23th…try and be available for set-up or take down or both day of the banquet
Try and get Donations of any kind, size, and amount are always a good thing! The more gear and variety of gear we have at the banquet on March 23 the more people who attend the banquet will go home happy…everyone wants to WIN something at a banquet. Depending on the nature of the donation it may be used to enhance live auction, silent auction, games, raffle buckets, womans table, youth table…
At times thinking outside the box on donations can be great…womans table, youth table… any type of donation even if it has nothing to do with hunting or the outdoors can be used and utilized. We more than willing to hang signs, banners, flags, posters for companies who want to donate. If they are willing to give us goods/gear we will do our part to show/advertise it. If a donation is substantial enough, we will also do our part to get a person or two from the company at the banquet.
People…we can use more people on the committee…many of the members of the Gem State NWTF are still the original guys/gals. One of the biggest areas of emphasis is getting young people on our committee. Please contact me if you are interested or would like more information.
Vice President Gem State NWTF
Attention NHS members! Coming up on February 23rd is a fantastic opportunity to gain some volunteer hours! Capital High School DECA is seeking volunteers who may need extra hours. They are seeking help to decorate or to help the clean-up process. Set-up begins at 10 am that Saturday in the main gym; clean-up begins at 8:45 pm that evening. Clean-up is anticipated to take an hour and a half. For more information, or to sign up, see Mrs. Murin in Room 211!
Calling all NHS members! Boise State football has just a few home football games left in the season, and they need your help at Albertson's Stadium! Volunteering will consist of post-event clean-up after the game has concluded. This is a great opportunity to gain multiple volunteer opportunities at once, especially if you're a Bronco football fan.
If you're interested in signing up, contact Mr. Watson or Mr. Georgeson to get the full details!
October has crept up on us and we are already thinking about the holidays. This year is the 35th annual Festival of Trees and we need help to make it the most spectacular Festival ever. The dates of the 2018 Festival of Trees are November 21 through November 25. We also have volunteer opportunities on Sunday, November 18 for move-in.
Revenues raised from the 2018 Festivals of Trees will help fund the expansion of the Saint Alphonsus Cancer Care Center's Infusion Room and new technologies like virtual reality and art therapy to help reduce pain, stress and anxiety.
The students and teachers from your school are some of our most valuable volunteers. To be able to participate and volunteer, students must be at least 14 years old. The Festival is a fun way for students to earn their community service credits and help make a difference in healthcare in your community. The students should also be encouraged to make this special event a family volunteer opportunity. We would love to have teachers volunteer, too! Please have students sign up on their own. We are asking the Students to use their personal or parent's email address and not the school email address.
Volunteer Website: www.saintalphonsus.org/volunteer-at-the-festival
The volunteer registration is available until Friday, November 2, 2018.
We will be sending out shift confirmation emails to each student. Please contact us if you have any questions.
Thank you for all of your help! We hope to see you at the 2018 Saint Alphonsus Festival of Trees!
Please have students interested in volunteering register online. If there are any questions, please call Janelle 208-861-9949 or email email@example.com.
NHS Members, this is a great volunteer opportunity with lots of available spots! October 13 is the date!
"I wanted to let you know we have an upcoming project to plant around 2,000 native plants at our Boise River site as part of a partnership with the Native Plant Network, College of Western Idaho, Golden Eagle Audubon, and Idaho Fish and Game. Our goal is to improve habitat for pollinators and birds at our site (habitat for "the birds and the bees" so to speak!)
We need about 60 volunteers to really make this event a success, and we hope we can count on you! Kids and families are welcome.
For those who planted with us last time, you know that much of our soil is nice and sandy, so, while I don't promise the work will be a piece of cake, this should be a very fun, beautiful fall day in Boise!
To sign up to attend, you must fill out this google form. It has important information about the event, and will also get you signed up to receive update emails if anything changes as the date approaches. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfvVW1Jipv10PHqy7xE6arBwx3V-FqZCSjPT5pyW-nCBvnnyA/viewform
Thanks all! Please let me know if you have any questions, and feel free to pass this along to anyone you think might be interested. This would be a great project for any students who need community service hours!"
We here at the Epilepsy Foundation of Idaho are in need of some volunteers for an upcoming annual charity event, that I have attached a flyer (below) for, and are in need of 10-12 volunteers to help out with various tasks. We have reached out to high schools in the past and had great success with it and were hoping for the same this.
We have an account on Sign Up Genius, under Epilepsy Foundation of Idaho, for the students to use and if you or they have any questions feel free to contact us.
